During the late 1950's, the late John Leslie Frazier 33° acting under a dispensation from the Most
Worshipful Hiram Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of New York to form U.D. Lodges in The Bahamas.
In 1959, King Solomon Lodge No. #I .F. & A.M was chartered with John Leslie 33° as Worshipful
Master: Bro. Oswald Saunders - Senior Warden; Bro. Alfred Brown - Junior Warden; and Bro. Thomas Baden - Secretary.

Through the zeal of John Leslie Frazier, there was rapid growth and consequently the late Senator
Charles Rodriquez 33° along with Bro. John Adderley 32° were commissioned to establish another
U.D. Lodge. This resulted in the setting up of King David Lodge No. #2 A.F. & A.M. on 15th February, 1959 with Bro. Charles Rhodriquez 32° W.M.; Bro. John A. Adderley 32° - Senior Warden; Bro. Daniel N. Brown - Junior Warden, Bro. Eric D.T. Sawyer - Treasurer; Rueben N. Gomez - Secretary and George W. W. Gardiner - Assistant Secretary.

The two lodges created much excitement in the Fraternal Circles of the Community. With much impetus abound the initiative was taken to establish a third lodge. This Lodge came into being with the forward
thrust of men like Robert W. Turnquest, Fred Brown, George H. Rolle, Edgar Brennen, Fred Albury,
Stanley Russell, Sidney Haynes and in March 1960 St. John Lodge No. #3 was Chartered. With the
establishment of this lodge, the Machinery was now set for the formation of a Grand Lodge. This effort
was culminated in August 1960 with a visitation of the Supreme Grand Officer of the General Grand
Masonic Congress of AF. & A.M. The delegation included:- M.W. Col. W.T. Meade Grant Jr. 330
President General; M. W. Eugene Jackson Sr. 33° - Supreme Grand Secretary; Willie A. Harris - Supreme
Grand Treasurer; M. W. Arthur Daley 33° - Grand Master of the M. W. Hiram Grand Lodge A. F. & A.M.
of New York; Dr. George Burrell 33° - Grand Orator

In August 1960, The Most Worshipful Peace of Peace Grand Lodge was organized with M.W. John L.
Frazier 33° - Grand Master; R. W. Asa Butler 32° - Deputy Grand Master, R.W. Milo B. Butler 32
Grand Treasurer; R. W. Thomas Basden - Grand Secretary; R.W. Charles Rhodriquez - Grand Senior
Warden; R. W. Edgar Brennen - Grand Junior Warden.
It can be said that the M. W. Prince of Peace Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. was the Mother Lodge of Ancient
Free and Accepted Masonry in The Bahamas. The early successes and forward thrust was soon
diminished with the development of internal dissension which resulted in the expulsion of John Leslie
Frazier 33° - Grand Master. The scars were deep and the order divided with many quitting in disgust
and for other reasons.

The members who remain rallied behind Bro. Joseph E. Hall who was then elected Grand Master.
In September 1963, Bro. Charles Rodriquez was elected Grand Master. Bro. Joseph E. Hall secured a
dispensation from M.W. King Solomon Lodge in The Bahamas which eventually led to him setting up
St. Andrews Lodge No. #7 A.F. & A.M. To ensure that the Grand Lodge remain intact Hiram Lodge No.
#4 AF. & A.M. was organized in 1964 with Edgar Brennen as W.M. George Rolle S.W., Robert
Turnquest J. W and Brothers from other fraternal connections.
The Grand Lodge made history when it hosted the Grand sessions of The General Grand Masonic Congress A.F.& A.M in 1969
